Listening Skills Description

Lanartco has developed a Listening Skills training that is dedicated to increasing the skill sets associated with active listening.  Whether one interrupts others` speech, anticipates their comments or simply daydreams while others are speaking, one cannot afford to maintain this kind of communication and expect high performing teams with high performing results.  Combined with its Act On IT!SM methodology, Lanartco employs the HURIER approach to listening to strengthen the way one hears, understands, remembers, interprets, evaluates and ultimately repsonds in their verbal communciation.

 Learning Objectives

 

  • To understand the influence of one`s percetual filters
  • To develop concentraiont
  • To acknowledge and direct inner speech
  • To explore empathy
  • To practice effective listening through simulations 

Sample Exercises:

 

  • Identifying mispronounced vowels in industry-specific terms
  • Using music to establish syllable stress
  • Learning to group words in phrases for clearer delivery
  • Reading song lyrics to practice reductions and contractions
  • Using business presentations to reinforce focus words
  • Listening to audio clips to practice mimicking
  • Understanding pitch range in order to increase intonation accuracy
  • Reading tongue twisters to practice specific sounds
